The Center for Iberian Historical Studies (CIHS) is thrilled to announce their Inaugural Lecture on Dec. 1, 2023, at 11 am at il Monastero Banquet Center, 3050 Olive Sreet.
Prof. Teofilo Ruiz, UCLA Distinguished Professor and Recipient of the National Humanities Medal will give an inaugural lecture entitled Serendipity or How I Became a Historian of Spain. The event will be followed by a luncheon. If you would like to attend the luncheon, RSVP to cihs@slu.edu before Nov. 29th.
The new CIHS promotes scholarly interactions between SLU's two campuses in St. Louis and Madrid, while offering to the broader academic community a platform for ideas, research projects, works in progress, and collective endeavors related to Iberian studies.
