Medical Center Development will host its second “Music and Medicine” event from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Allied Health Building.
In honor of heart month, The Heart Quartet will perform a musical tour of composers that suffered from heart ailments.
The Heart Quartet is a collaborative string quartet that uses music to raise awareness about heart health. Its members include three women from the St. Louis Symphony and SLUCare cardiac surgeon Dawn Hui, M.D. Hui is a a former member of the Hong Kong philharmonic.
The program will also feature acclaimed singer Brian Owens, who will perform several spirituals.
The event is free however registration is required at alumni.slu.edu/MusicandMed2 by Thursday, Feb. 23.
