‘Making a Difference in North St. Louis’ Symposium

Monday, 03 April, 2017

Please join us at the "Making a Difference in North St. Louis" Symposium from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, April 3, at Il Monastero Banquet Center.

The event is co-sponsored by the Center for Service and Community Engagement, Office of Diversity and Community Engagement, Office for Mission and Identity, Office of Research Development and Services, the College for Public Health and Social Justice, Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, and the SLU Chapter Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society.

For over three years a group of dedicated faculty have come together to discuss and brainstorm ways in which the SLU community can have a real impact on the health and well-being of North St. Louis communities.

An outcome of this work is the “Making a Difference in North St. Louis” Symposium, which is a way to highlight some of the work that faculty, staff and students are doing with North St. Louis partners.

The purpose of the symposium is to:

  • Highlight projects, service, or research conducted in North St. Louis through poster presentations on topics such as education, incarceration, health, etc.
  • Encourage collaboration among faculty, students, staff, and community members on current or future projects, service, and research in North St. Louis.
  • Introduce our current community partners to the University family and the work that is being done with North St. Louis in order to increase and strengthen partnerships with the community.

The symposium is free and open to all University faculty, staff and students, and to existing and potential community partners.

Refreshments will be served.
