Saint Louis University's Theology Department will present the annual Cleary Lecture from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at the Saint Louis University Museum of Art (SLUMA).
Timothy Kesicki, S.J., will present “Pope Francis' Theology of the Periphery.”
From the outset of his pontificate, Pope Francis has continually re-directed attention away from himself to the Church at “the periphery.” He believes that the great revolutions and changes in history were realized when, “reality was seen not from the center, but rather from the peripheries.”
How do these words still challenge us four years after his election?
