The John Cook School of Business will host a special Dean’s Breakfast presentation with Alfred J. Verrecchia, former CEO and chairman of Hasbro Thursday, April 6. The event takes place at the Cook School and begins with a complimentary networking breakfast in the atrium at 7:30 a.m., followed by the program in the Anheuser-Busch Auditorium.
In 1965, Alfred J. Verrecchia began his career in the toy industry as a staff accountant at Hasbro, working his way up to CEO in 2003. During his tenure as CEO, Verrecchia was one of the prime architects in building and executing a strategy focused on aggressively leveraging the company’s unmatched portfolio of brands in a wide range of categories beyond traditional toys and games.
Prior to his tenure as CEO, Verrecchia held a range of senior executive positions at Hasbro, including chief financial officer and president of Hasbro Manufacturing Services, among others. He became chairman in 2008.
In 2015, Verrecchia retired as chairman after 50 years with the company. In addition to serving on Hasbro’s Board of Directors, Verrecchia also serves as a board member and chairman of Iron Mountain, a world leader in information management services headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Verrecchia served on the board of FM Global, the world’s largest commercial and industrial property insurance company focusing on risk management and specializing in engineering-driven property insurance. He also served on the boards of Old Stone Corporation, CVS, Bacou USA and FGX International.
