Join the Jewish Student Association from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, in the Wool Ballroom at Busch Student Center for an Atlas Week event with guest speaker Todd Rush.
After working on Fighter Aircraft for the last 29 years -- and 31 plus years in total -- for Boeing (formerly McDonnell Aircraft Company), Rush has often been asked how he could work for a company that sells fighter aircraft and weapons that could potentially be used against our country or our citizens.
In the turbulent times in which we live, how can we be sure that the aircraft and weapons we sell to our friends and allies today won’t end up in the hands of our enemies tomorrow?
Are there ethical and religious considerations that should be weighed in addition to political and security considerations?
Rush understands there are two or more sides to every argument, and hopes to hear some good arguments and thoughts from the audience as to how he should answer his detractors or supporters from doing this type of work.
He will also show a couple of short videos in which you can see what is like to fly in a fighter jet.
