Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health Grand Rounds

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health will host its Grand Rounds 7:30-8:30 a.m., May 12, in Meeting Rooms 1, 2 and 3, SSM Health, St. Mary's Hospital, 6420 Clayton Road.

Margaret Baum, M.D., attending OB/GYN at Affinia Health Center, will present “The Unkindest Cut: Female Genital Mutilation.” Baum also serves as adjunct faculty in the Washington University Department of Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, among other roles.

The educational objectives of the rounds are:

  • Describe the different types of FGM.
  • Recognize the potential complications that these patients may face in obstetrical and gynecologic care.
  • Develop sensitivity in addressing these issues with patients and making plans for culturally appropriate care.
