The Department of English will kick off its "Textual Revolutions 2017-2018" series at 4 p.m., Sept. 20, in Room 142, Adorjan Hall.
Paul Acker, Ph.D., will present "Waterways in Icelandic Ballads."
Acker's interests include studying medieval manuscripts, the nature of dragons in medieval art and literature and examining the representation of medieval subjects in Pre-Raphaelite and Victorian art. He is the director of creative writing at SLU and editor of the journal ANQ (American Notes & Queries). Acker has also published several books on Old Norse, Old Icelandic and Old English oral and epic traditions.
