Saint Louis University will kick off its celebration of its 200-year anniversary with a Mass under the St. Louis’ Gateway Arch on Saturday, Sept. 23.
The outdoor Mass will begin at 5:30 p.m. Attendees will be invited to stay on the Arch grounds following Mass to enjoy a special fireworks display and other family-friendly activities, including music by the LustreLights, food trucks, face painting, magicians and inflatables.
The presider for Mass will be Most Rev. Robert J. Carlson, Archbishop of St. Louis, and the homily will be delivered by Very Rev. Ronald A. Mercier, S.J., provincial of the USA Central and Southern province of the Society of Jesus.
Parking options include the Mansion House garages and the Stadium Garage East. Additional parking will also be available at the SLU campus, with shuttles picking up attendees at the Olive/Compton Garage beginning at 3:30 p.m.
