An interdisciplinary symposium will consider Catholic higher education 50 years after the Land O'Lakes statement on the nature of the Catholic university, a watershed moment in contemporary American Catholic history. The symposium opens on Sept. 20 and runs through Sept. 22.
The symposium starts at 6 p.m. on Sept. 20 with registration in the Anheuser-Busch Auditorium Lobby in the John Cook School of Business.
Paper sessions and discussions will bring together scholars, graduate students, administrators and staff members representing a variety of Catholic institutions from all over the nation.
A joint reflection by Saint Louis University President Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D., and John Jenkins, C.S.C, D. Phil., president of the University of Notre Dame, will be a highlight of the symposium.
