'A Distinctive Vision? Catholic Higher Education 50 Years after Land O'Lakes'

An interdisciplinary symposium will consider Catholic higher education 50 years after the Land O'Lakes statement on the nature of the Catholic university, a watershed moment in contemporary American Catholic history. The symposium opens on Sept. 20 and runs through Sept. 22.

The symposium starts at 6 p.m. on Sept. 20 with registration in the Anheuser-Busch Auditorium Lobby in the John Cook School of Business.

Paper sessions and discussions will bring together scholars, graduate students, administrators and staff members representing a variety of Catholic institutions from all over the nation.

A joint reflection by Saint Louis University President Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D., and John Jenkins, C.S.C, D. Phil., president of the University of Notre Dame, will be a highlight of the symposium.
