Orthopaedic Surgery Resident Research Day

The Annual Orthopaedic Surgery Resident Research Day will be held beginning at 8 a.m., Sept. 9, in the 3rd Floor Auditorium, SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital’s South Campus at 1755 S. Grand Blvd.

Stephen Kates, M.D. will present “Bone Infection, What We Have Learned.” Kates is professor and chair of orthopaedic surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Presentations on clinical and basic science research conducted by SLU residents will follow Kates’s talk. The day will also feature a resident research poster competition.

At the completion of this lecture the participants will be able to:

  • Review the impact of infection on bone healing.
  • Appreciate the natural history of bone infections and how they have been treated.
  • Compare the best contemporary methods of addressing bone infections.

Saint Louis University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Saint Louis University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
