'Black Lives Matter: Protest in St. Louis' Panel

The Department of American Studies will host a panel, “Black Lives Matter: Protest in St. Louis,” from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 20, in Room 251B, Busch Student Center.

The panel includes:

Andrea Boyles, Ph.D., associate professor of criminal justice, Lindenwood University.
Aretha Butler, doctoral candidate in SLU’s American Studies department.
Sarah Nash, (A&S ’16), a SLU American Studies alumna.

Heide Ardizzone, Ph.D., chair of American Studies at SLU, will moderate.

The panel and conversation will focus on recent protests surrounding the Stockley verdict, the Black Lives Matter movement in St. Louis and nationally as well as on patterns and perceptions of protest.

The panel is co-sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Community Engagement.

Pizza will be offered.
