The Bander Center for Medical Business Ethics will present its final lecture of the fall semester, “The Trillion Dollar Industry, A Discussion with Elisabeth Rosenthal,” at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, at the Health Sciences Education Union.
Rosenthal is the author of An American Sickness: How Healthcare Became Big Business and How You Can Take IT Back, published earlier this year. Rosenthal, a longtime New York Times senior writer, was born in New York City and received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Stanford University, an M.A. in English literature from Cambridge University and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School. She is the editor in chief of Kaiser Health News. Rosenthal will discuss the ethical issues underlying her work as part of the talk.
