David Berliner, Ph.D., emeritus Regents’ Professor of Education at Arizona State University will present “Myths and Truths About America’s Public Education System,” from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov 29, at Il Monastero.
He will also present, “Why America’s Public Education System is Simultaneously Wonderful and Problematic,” from 1 to 3:30 p.m. This talk will also be held at Il Monastero.
Berliner has taught at universities in Arizona, Massachusetts, California and internationally in Canada, Australia, Denmark, Spain, and in other nations. He is a member of the National Academy of Education, the International Education, and is a past president of both the American Educational Research Association (AREA) and the Division of Educational Psychology of the American Psychological Association (APA). He has won numerous awards and has authored or co-authored over 400 articles, book chapters and books. His research interests include the study of teaching, teacher education and educational policy.
