The Department of Neurology will present at Grand Rounds from 8 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, in Lecture Hall 1, Schwitalla Hall.
Laurence Kinsella, M.D., will present, “Confessions of a Mostly Happy Doctor: Strategies for Reducing Physician Burnout.”
Kinsella is a neurologist at SSM Health since 2010. He serves on the leadership council for the SSM Neuroscience Institute and is an adjunct professor at Saint Louis University. He has had a foot in both academic and clinical practice for 25 years. His interest in physician wellness was sparked by his own struggles to resolve the conflict between the doctor-patient relationship and the electronic medical record. He recently published Confessions of a Mostly Happy Doctor in Kevin MD, outlining practical steps to restore satisfaction in clinical practice.
