College Church is sponsoring a ‘Supper and Spirituality’ program to be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the Xavier Ballroom of College Church.
The program will begin with an opening prayer, followed by a shared meal and a presentation from 6:30 to 7 p.m. The program will conclude with 15 minutes of questions and discussions.
For the presentation, Julie Hanlon Rubio, Ph.D., will discuss “Families, Love and Justice: The Vision of Pope Francis.”
Hanlon Rubio is a professor of Christian ethics in the Department of Theological Studies at Saint Louis University. Her research focuses on bringing the resources of Catholic thought, moral theology and social science to contemporary discussions of marriage, family, sex and gender.
Since September is a bit warm for soup, participants are asked to help by providing either a sandwich to be shared, a bag of chips or drinks. Volunteers will also be needed to help set up or clean up.
To reserve a spot, contact Joyce Miller, parish center receptionist, at 314-977-7300 or email email@example.com no later than Friday, Sept. 16.
Contact Steve Gilbert at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 314-280-3923 to volunteer.
