The School of Education’s Education Lecture Series will present a talk by Margie Vandeven, Ph.D., at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, in the Sinquefield State Room, DuBourg Hall.
Vandeven is Missouri's Commissioner of Education. She began her education career in 1990 as a communication arts teacher in O'Fallon. She served as a teacher and administrator in Missouri and Maryland until 2005 when she went to work for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She was the second woman to serve the position.
Vandeven received her B.A. from Missouri State University, her master’s degree in educational administration from Loyola College, and her Ph.D. in educational leadership from Saint Louis University.
Vandeven loves the challenges and rewards that come with serving Missouri's students.
Lunch will precede the talk.
