Today, immigrants from around the Americas are finding their way to Santiago, Chile in search of more stable and prosperous lives. In a society unaccustomed to welcoming newcomers, immigrants often struggle to find security and opportunity. Undergraduate student Graham Vogt (A&S ’19) spent a week with a Catholic agency that serves these immigrants. The agency’s efforts are making a difference in immigrants’ lives and smoothing the conflict simmering between Chileans and immigrants. This presentation will focus on the lessons drawn from Vogt’s research and how they be applied to issues of immigration within our society.
The event will be in the Busch Student Center Room 251A.
