We are currently experiencing one of the biggest immigration crisis in our continent. As a result of a severe economic crisis, Venezuelans are fleeing the country trying to survive and find better opportunities for their families. One of the countries who have received the majority of Venezuelans is Colombia as a result of their large shared border. As a result of this immigration crisis, Colombia is currently receiving hundreds of Venezuelans that cross the border every day, either to stay in Colombia or to go to other countries such as Ecuador and Chile. This event will explore the causes for the immigration crisis and the responses that Colombia is currently doing to deal with the current influx of Venezuelans entering the country.
The event will be in the Center for Global Citizenship Seminar Room 124.
