The Department of Psychiatry Behavioral Neuroscience will present Grand Rounds from 8 to 9 a.m. Schwitalla Hall, Lecture Hall 2, on Thursday, April 18, 2019.
Dr. Assad Mukhtar, M.D. PGY IV, will present, “Review of Major Neurocognitive disorders FTD type, caregiver’s burden and related challenges”
Dr. Mukhtar completed his medical school from Chandka Medical College, Larkana, Pakistan. He completed post-graduate training in General Surgery at Dow University of Medical and Health Sciences, Karachi, Pakistan. He had clinical research opportunity at CenterPointe Hospital and psych care consultants research in Saint Louis. He participated in multiple clinical trials over 3 years prior to starting a residency at SLUH in 2015. He is active in lecturing third-year medical students on substance use regularly.
Dr. Mukhtar is a delightful and caring person. He resides with his wonderful wife and 3 beautiful children. Dr. Mukhtar will be moving to Indiana to pursue his career as Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist at Indiana University-affiliated hospital.
