Seminar: The Medicinal Chemistry of agents targeting enzymatic hydrolysis, pro-inflammatory cytokines and viral infections

Wednesday, 24 April, 2019

Medicinal chemistry is a stimulating field at the interface between synthetic organic chemistry, biology and pharmacology applied to the process of developing new drugs. Here I report different approaches to target different proteins involved in several (patho)physiological processes (hydrolytic enzymes, viral proteins and proinflammatory cytokines), different modes of inhibition of such proteins as well as the use of the medicinal chemistry for the study of the biological system and the development of new biochemical assays.
