The Open Space Council for the St Louis Region is organizing the 52nd Annual Operation Clean Stream on Saturday, Aug. 24, at various locations along the Meramec River and its tributaries.
Nearly 2,000 volunteers, including SLU community members, will work to undo the damage caused throughout the year by flooding, careless littering and unlawful dumping. Volunteers of all ages are welcome and encouraged to participate.
The clean-up will take place, rain or shine.

Participants ages 5 to 18 are also invited to take part in Passport to Clean Water at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24. Through this educational event, youth will walk a greenway adjacent to the Meramec River and learn about natural resources through interaction, discussion and exploration. Upon completion of this program, those participating will be equipped with the knowledge on how they can improve water quality in their daily life.
