The Bosnian and South Slavic Film Series continues with A Little Bit of Soul / Ovo malo duše, and free Bosnian food beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, in the Anheuser Busch Auditorium, Cook Hall. The screening is free and the film will be shown at 7 p.m.
A combination of comedy and drama about growing up, the film’s story follows locals in a Bosnian village as they prepare for a traditional wedding. Ibrahim, one of the lead characters, has remained a widower with three young children, and his only wish is to marry off his son as soon as possible.
A Little Bit of Soul / Ovo malo duše is in Bosnian with English subtitles.

This film series features work from Bosnia-Herzegovina, showcasing both classic films and more recent offerings of South Slavic cinema. The series is sponsored by Saint Louis University's Russian and East European Area Studies and SLU's Bosnian-Herzegovinian Student Association, and is part of a collaborative partnership among faculty at Saint Louis University, Fontbonne University, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
