Vatican Astronomer David A. Brown, S.J., will speak about SLU’s scientific legacy and his career working at one of the most prestigious astronomical institutions in the world as part of the Ignatian Lunch series at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the ballroom of St. Francis Xavier College Church.
Impelled by its distinct spirituality, the Society of Jesus has been finding God in all things for almost five centuries. With this enthusiasm, the Jesuits distinguished themselves in the sciences thanks to the work of people like Roger Joseph Boscovich, S.J., Angelo Secchi, S.J., and SLU’s James Macelwane, S.J., along with countless lay collaborators and former students at Jesuit institutions worldwide.
