Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Continuing Education Course

The Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training will offer a continuing education opportunity, “Contemporary Approaches to Hip Impingement Syndrome,” from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Allied Health Professions Building.

The session will focus on interventions for hip pathology evolve over time.

  • “Evidence-based Examination of Hip Pain,” presented by Jamil Neme, M.D.
  • “Hip Preservation in the Young Patient,” presented by Scott Kaar, M.D.
  • “Emerging Rehabilitation Practices for FAI,” presented by Nathan Jarman
  • “Manual Techniques (Lab),” presented by Mike Markee, DPT
  • “Corrective Exercise Strategies for the Hip (Lab),” presented by Tim Howell, Ed.D.

Saint Louis University’s Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training (BOC AP# P3877) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers.

The program is eligible for a maximum of 4 EBP Category hours/CEUs.

Saint Louis University School of Medicine Continuing Education Program is a continuing education sponsor for the State of Illinois to provide Physical Therapy and Occupation Therapy CE courses.

Educational Objectives

  • Upon completion of this program, a participant will be able to:
  • Explain a systematic, evidence-based approach to evaluation and treatment of hip pain.
  • Describe surgical management of hip impingement syndrome.
  • Develop rehabilitation progressions for hip pathology.
  • Select appropriate manual and exercise techniques.
  • Demonstrate therapeutic interventions to effect hip pain in patients.
  • This program is intended for athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.


The course is $60 for those making payments by Friday, Nov. 29. Those paying after Friday, Nov. 29, will pay a fee of $75.
