The Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies will host a welcome reception for Enrico Veneziani, Ph.D., on Friday, Jan. 24, at 4 p.m., in the third floor common area, Adorjan Hall.
Enrico Veneziani is a doctoral graduate from the University of St Andrews in the United Kingdom. He specializes in 11th and 12th-century church history, particularly papal ecclesiology. His graduate thesis is The Ecclesiology of the Papacy of Honorius II (1124-1130), with a Preliminary Calendar of Letters.
His current project is Re-thinking Deusdedit's Collectio Canonum: an alternative vision of the Church?, which will examine Cardinal Deusdedit's ecclesiological vision and how it differed from that of Pope Gregory VII.
