'Careers That Change the World: STEM Jobs in Biodiversity Conservation, Climate Change Resilience, Sustainable Agriculture, and Global Health'

Join Career Services for a panel conversation and networking with five professionals from STEM-related areas, including biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, and data science, to learn about pursuing a professional path tackling some of the greatest challenges facing the world today, from climate change resilience to sustainable agriculture.

The panel, “Careers That Change the World: STEM Jobs in Biodiversity Conservation, Climate Change Resilience, Sustainable Agriculture, and Global Health,” will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Career Services Center in Griesedieck Hall.

Attendees can expect to learn about topics that include the following and more:

  • How plant science seeks to improve the human condition.
  • Meeting the biggest global challenge to date: the needs to feed and power a growing changing world, while also preserving the environment and vital natural resources.
  • What a typical day looks like in each job.
  • Describe individual career paths in plant science.
  • Professional advice graduate and undergraduate students can use to prepare for industry-track position.

The panel will take place from 4 to 4:45 p.m., and there will be a 15-minute Q&A.

Networking over appetizers and opportunities to talk with panel members one-on-one will follow form 5 to 6 p.m.
