Geo-Resolution 2026
Saint Louis University and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) will co-host the 2026 Geo-Resolution conference, “Securing the Future with Geospatial,” at SLU’s Busch Student Center on Thursday, Sept. 10.
SLU and the NGA aim to provide a venue for collaboration among geospatial experts and students in government, academia and industry. This year’s conference will highlight how, in an era of persistent strategic competition, mastering the geospatial domain is a national imperative
Panel Themes
GEOINT AI: From Data to Decision Advantage
This panel explores how advances in GeoAI, machine learning, and foundation models are transforming geospatial intelligence. Speakers will discuss real-world applications across defense, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure, highlighting how AI is enabling faster, more accurate and scalable decision-making from multi-modal geospatial data.
Quantum Intelligence: The Next Frontier in Geospatial Science
Quantum technologies are poised to redefine remote sensing, computing, and secure communications. This panel examines the emerging role of quantum intelligence in GEOINT, including quantum sensing, positioning, and encryption, and how these capabilities may reshape national security, geospatial analytics, and global intelligence frameworks.
Workforce Transformation: Building the Next Generation of GEOINT Leaders
As GEOINT rapidly evolves, so must the workforce. This panel focuses on strategies to develop a future-ready, AI-enabled workforce through interdisciplinary education, industry partnerships, and innovative training pathways.
Discussions will highlight emerging skill sets at the intersection of GeoAI, quantum technologies, and geospatial science, as well as approaches to scaling talent pipelines from K–12 through professional development. The panel will also explore how to expand access to AI knowledge, tools, and training, and how to build capacity to close the gap between today’s education systems and the demands of an AI-driven future.
Featured Events
Student Mentoring Lunch with Career Exploration
11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. (CDT): Local leaders from industry, academia and government will join students for a networking lunch to discuss geospatial career paths, the skill sets in demand, and how to establish a successful career in the geospatial field. Attendance at this event is by invitation only. Students and mentors can indicate their interest in attending in the registration form.
Student Poster Session
Each year Geo-Resolution hosts an academic poster session to share the new, exciting research that is happening in geospatial across the United States. We welcome posters on a wide range of research topics as long as there is a geospatial aspect to the work. Whether your study uses location science as an analytic mapping tool or your research is breaking new ground in geospatial technologies, we want to highlight your work for the Geo-Resolution audience. Posters where the participant is listed as a co-author will be accepted. Posters do not have to be new and may be previously presented.
High school, undergraduate and graduate students are invited to create posters depicting the critical role of geospatial techniques in their research and become eligible to win cash prizes. Posters will be displayed during the conference. For more information, visit the poster session application form.
