Daily Symptom Check Requirement Reminder-Employees

Aug. 25, 2020

Dear SLU faculty and staff,

We want to take the opportunity to remind you –– and ask you to remind your students and colleagues –– to please use the #CampusClear symptom check tool daily if you live, work or learn on any of our St. Louis campuses, even on days when you are working remotely.

#CampusClear is available as a smartphone app, or through an online version of the self-screening tool.

All faculty, staff and students should fill out the app before arriving on campus each day, reporting if they are experiencing any of the 11 identified symptoms associated with COVID-19. Users are also asked if they have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone who has. (Close contact is defined in the contact tracing section of FAQs on the Back to SLU website.)

Based on their responses, users are either cleared to come to campus, or are given guidance on what to do next, such as calling Employee Health or the Student Health Center.

Faculty and staff who are working remotely 100 percent of the time –– or within a unit that has a separate symptom-checking process –– are not required to complete the daily set of questions. A future message will provide details on how to opt-out of #CampusClear in such cases.

However, if you split your time between the office and home, you are required to complete the app daily –– even on days you are working remotely. On days you are not coming into the office, simply indicate that you are working remotely that day and hit submit.

A similar reminder is going to students soon, but the more we can all socialize the everyday use of this tool, the better. Your help is appreciated.

Thank you, and God bless.
