Coronavirus Update: Travel Information

Dear Members of the SLU Community,

The status of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues to be top of mind for many in our community.

SLU-Sponsored Travel: Effective immediately, the University is suspending all SLU-sponsored travel to countries that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) identifies as aLevel 3 Travel Health Notice. The CDC’s list of countries is subject to change, but currently includes China, Iran, Italy and South Korea. This decision was informed by our shared focus on the greater community over any single individual.

Non-Essential Travel: In light of the upcoming spring break, the University strongly encourages SLU faculty, staff and students to share all travel plans for at least the next month. We expect this travel information will help us communicate on short notice, should the need arise.

If you choose to travel to or return from a country with a CDC Level-3 Health Notice, the University will require you to isolate yourself at your home for 14 days before returning to campus.

This travel guidance applies to all faculty, staff and students. Faculty and staff with additional questions should contact Human Resources at 314-977-2595 orhr@slu.edu. Students should contact the Dean of Students at 314-977-9378 ordeanofstudents@slu.edu.

If you choose to travel in the coming weeks, we encourage you to monitor the CDC website fortravel precautions and general preparedness information, as it continues to evolve every few days.

Get the Facts: As a reminder, SLU has aregularly-updated website about COVID-19 with frequently asked questions and multiple resources that are available to our campus community. This includes help related to study abroad programs and SLU-Madrid.

The safety of our faculty, staff and students remains the University’s highest priority, and we appreciate your immediate attention and cooperation.
