This year’s items were donated to three area nonprofits, Campus Kitchen, Goodwill Industries and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

SLU community members Spencer Ruggles, Amy Hargis, Tara Wright, Maddie Emerson, Sarah Cerkvenik, Maggie Slattery, Claire Lies, Sarah Connors, Kathy Wolf, Laura Beilsmith, Floyd Clark, Erin Kollar, Brittany Polley, John Hammil, Michael Ou, Dane Nelson, Jubile Beladi and Seema Kakar donated their time and efforts as volunteers. The effort is supported by the Office of Sustainability and Benchmarking, SLU’s Center for Service and Community Engagement, Housing and Residence Life and Facilities Services.

The yearly drive aims to increase the University’s waste diversion rate by keeping items out of the landfill and to help provide used items to people in need.  Items accepted for donations include clothing, furniture, household items, cleaning supplies, working appliances/ electronics, unused toiletries, and unopened and non-perishable food items.
