SLU Graduate, Professional Programs Again Rank Among Nation’s Best in Annual U.S. News Rankings

ST. LOUIS (March 30, 2021) — Saint Louis University has 25 graduate and professional programs ranked in the top-100 in the 2022 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Graduate Schools” guide released today.

The School of Law’s health law program was named No. 2 in the country, continuing a long tradition of holding a top spot since rankings for the discipline were first published nearly 20 years ago. A dozen other law school programs at SLU were ranked in the top-100 as well, including clinical training, which improved 30 spots to No. 56.

The Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business earned a trio of top-25 rankings from U.S. News for its graduate programs in international business (No. 9), entrepreneurship (No. 14) and supply chain management (No. 16). Those fields also tallied top rankings in the most recent U.S. News “Best Colleges” guide for undergraduate education.

These rankings are another testament to the strength of our programs and the commitment of our talented faculty to prepare our graduate students to become leaders so that they can use their advanced knowledge to make our world a better place.”

Michael Lewis, Ph.D., Provost of Saint Louis University

A number of other graduate programs at SLU rose in the U.S. News rankings this year, including the master of science in nursing program offered through the Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing. The program climbed 18 spots into the nation’s top-50 among more than 500 nursing graduate programs in the country.

Rankings for the University’s School of Medicine also improved this year. Among the more than 150 accredited M.D. programs in the United States, SLU ranked No. 46 for primary care and No. 70 for research — both are gains over the previous year.

“Although rankings are only one indicator of a university’s excellence, we are proud that so many graduate programs at Saint Louis University continue to be recognized nationally by our peers in higher education,” said SLU Provost Michael Lewis, Ph.D.

“Graduate education is central to our mission as a major Catholic, Jesuit research university,” Lewis added. “These rankings are another testament to the strength of our programs and the commitment of our talented faculty to prepare our graduate students to become leaders so that they can use their advanced knowledge to make our world a better place.”

The data for the rankings came from statistical surveys of more than 2,125 programs and reputation surveys sent to more than 23,000 academics and professionals, conducted in fall 2020 and early 2021. Visit the U.S. News Grad Compass for all of this year’s rankings.
