Hill is one of three nominees for the top educator award.

“Education is where the future of nursing is shaped, and to be recognized for contributing to that mission is a great honor,” Hill said. “Teaching is more than delivering information — it is mentoring, inspiring confidence, fostering critical thinking, and modeling compassion. Every student I have taught has, in turn, taught me about resilience, inquisitiveness, and the evolving needs of our profession.”

The Excellence in Nursing Awards were established to recognize the critical role nurses play in the health care system, highlighting those who go above and beyond in their practice. This is the 17th year of the awards.

“I believe I was nominated because of my commitment to advance practice nursing education in ways that are innovative, challenging yet supportive, and grounded in real-world practice,” Hill said. “If selected for this honor, I would view it not as a personal achievement, but as a reflection of the transformative power of education and the incredible potential of the nurses and advanced practice nurses we prepare.”

Winners will be featured in the June/July issue of St. Louis Magazine and revealed at an awards reception on June 4 at the Missouri Botanical Garden.

Nominees were chosen after a review process conducted by a panel of judges.
