ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis University School of Education will host a regional event for the Scripps National Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 7, bringing together 33 local elementary and middle school students to compete for a spot in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May. 

Saturday’s event will be the fourth time SLU will host for the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The event begins at 9 a.m.

The winner of this contest will move forward to the National Scripps Spelling Bee in Washington D.C., in May 2026.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee is the nation’s largest and longest-running educational program, having launched in 1925. By inspiring the exploration of words, the Bee illuminates pathways to lifelong curiosity, celebrates academic achievement, and enriches communities.
