SLU Introduces New Garage Sale Service through MySLU

By logging into mySLU, users will find on the home tab a content box featuring the new Garage Sale service. The service is free for SLU students, staff and faculty.

Members of the SLU community must sign in with their SLU Net ID to post ads. Each user is allowed to have one active ad with a description of up to 500 characters. The ads will run for one month. Once an item sells, users can post another ad. The seller's SLU Net ID will be shown so people can contact her or him directly.

Illegal or inappropriate items are prohibited. SLU reserves the right to remove an ad for any item or language deemed inappropriate. Disallowed items include any illegal or inappropriate items, such as alcohol or firearms.

Anyone will be able to flag an ad if they see any inappropriate items or language. When someone flags an ad, it is removed immediately and put into a queue in the admin panel to be reviewed. The SLU Net ID of the person flagging the ad is recorded, and they must enter a reason for the flag. While an ad is flagged, the seller cannot create another ad. The administrator can restore the ad or allow the ad to remain banned. When a person who has a flagged ad goes to the edit/create section they will be informed they have a flagged ad as well as the reason for the flag.
