University Honors SLU Veteran Community

The week of Nov. 7 will be dedicated to honoring SLU veterans and their military service.

University President Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D., thanks the SLU veterans community for their military service at the second annual Veterans Celebration Lunch Monday.

SLU veteran faculty, staff and students participated in an Annual Veterans Celebration Lunch on Monday, Nov. 7. At the event, free tickets were given away to SLU veterans and military-affiliated community members for the “Salute to Service” Game on Friday, Nov. 11.

On Thursday, Nov. 10, the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business will host its Dean’s Breakfast presentation with speaker Lieutenant General Samuel D. Cox, commander, 18th Air Force.  For more information or to register for this annual military-friendly special event, click here.

On Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, the Student Veterans Association will be handing out yellow ribbons at the Lipic Clock Tower.

Finally, also on Friday, the men's Billiken basketball home opener vs. Ball State is dedicated to honoring and celebrating the St. Louis veteran community.  Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and discounted tickets are available for all current or retired military personnel. Saint Louis University Student Veterans Success Task Force aims to promote a military-friendly environment for active military, veterans and their families, and to ensure student veteran persistence and success.
