Newslink Changing Publication Schedule in August

Newslink will begin a new publication schedule for the academic year, running three times a week, effective Monday, Aug. 21.

During the academic year, Newslink will be published every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The intent is for each Newslink edition to be richer and more robust, with higher quality features and photos, along with more content that is pertinent and interesting to faculty, staff and students.

Special issues of Newslink will be published when necessary. Members of the University community also can keep informed about SLU news and events through the University’s official social media accounts including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

Event information can be found any time in the University’s calendar and will be posted live to the calendar regularly. Events published on the University’s calendar will be available independent of the published Newslink editions.

With this change, University Communications has the following recommendations for Newslink submissions:

• Please submit announcements, events and story ideas at least a week prior to the preferred publication date.
• The traditional noon deadline remains in effect. Early submissions are strongly encouraged.
• When sending information about events, submission to the University’s calendar as a first course of action is strongly advised to ensure maximum exposure to the campus community.
• As in the past, Newslink’s submission guidelines for content, editing and relevance remain in effect.
