Mission and Identity Colloquium Seeks Faculty Participants

Applications are now being accepted for the August Mission and Identity Faculty Colloquium. Twelve faculty members will be selected to take part in the three-day session centered on reflecting on the identity and mission of SLU as Catholic and Jesuit. Letters of application are due by July 11 to the Office of Mission and Identity.

The three-day colloquium will include discussions of readings on the intellectual and spiritual foundations of the University and will be an opportunity for faculty from a variety of schools to deepen their relationships as they reflect on a common mission to collaborate with one another to take part in the “pursuit of truth, for the greater glory of God and the service of humanity.”

Applicants are welcome from all faculty ranks and units. Individuals of all religious backgrounds are welcome. Participants will receive a $100 stipend.

Application letters should be no more than one page in length. The letters should describe the applicant’s area of academic expertise and how her or his approach to teaching intersects with SLU’s mission as a Catholic and Jesuit institution of higher learning as well as why the applicant wants to take part in the colloquium experience.

Applications can be sent to mission@slu.edu. For more information or questions, call 314-977-7075.
