Security Awareness Training Deadline Coming

University staff members and other employees must complete required training to reduce risks to the SLU’s data, network and other IT resources by July 16.

The new training requirement, which can be completed through the Security Awareness Training compliance module listed in the Home tab of mySLU, was announced April 17.

The module, which is available in SkillSoft, takes between five and seven minutes to complete. A link will direct users to the training.

The training includes questions on basic security awareness such as incident response, data classification, threat awareness and good password practices. The module has a pre-test that allows users to test out of the training.

After July 16, if the training has not been completed, users will be required to complete the module before proceeding in mySLU.

Information Technology Services’ Security and Compliance team is leading the training effort. Additional information and answers to commonly asked questions about the training can be found here. For more information, contact infosecurityteam@slu.edu with any questions or feedback.
