Watch for Billikens in Thanksgiving Day Parade

11/17/2017

Members of the SLU community, Billiken families and the Billiken himself will strut their stuff in this year’s Turkey Day parade in downtown St. Louis on Thursday, Nov. 23.

SLU is a co-grand marshal in this year's Ameren Thanksgiving Day Parade in honor of its bicentennial year festivities. This is the first year in the parade’s 33-year history that SLU and its Billikens have joined in the festive march.

The parade will be shown live on KMOV-TV Ch. 4. The parade will step off at 8:45 a.m. and proceed from 7th and Market Streets through downtown. The parade ends at 20th Street.

SLU joins over 130 parade units, balloon figures, marching bands from around the region and old St. Nick himself to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and start to the holiday season.

Students, faculty, staff members, alumni and Billiken families are invited to take part by walking and wearing their SLU blue in the parade.

The time commitment is from approximately 8 to 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning and breakfast treats will be provided to the SLU Crew.  Those participating will receive a custom Billiken hat and scarf to keep them cozy along the route.
