Ash Wednesday Liturgies Set Across Campus

02/08/2018

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent in the Roman Catholic Church, a season of renewal and a time when the SLU community is invited to deepen and strengthen its relationship with God in an intentional way.

During Lent, Catholics engage in the practices of prayer, fasting and almsgiving in preparation for living more fully the Paschal mystery celebrated anew each Easter.

As part of the season, Campus Ministry has prepared daily readings and reflections, a list of Lenten campus events and information about Catholic practices during Lent and the Pascal Triduum. To read more, visit Lent at SLU.

This year, the day of obligation falls on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

Liturgies will be held across campus at the following times and locations:

The 9 p.m. service at College Church will take the place of Masses in Reinert Hall and Grand Hall. Students are encouraged to attend 9 p.m. Mass. Priests will be available starting at 8 p.m. to hear confessions.
