Pediatric Science Days Abstract Deadline Approaches

01/23/2018

The deadline is approaching for faculty and trainees at any school, department or center at Saint Louis University whose work addresses any aspect of child health and well-being to submit abstracts for the Department of Pediatrics’s 12th Annual Pediatric Science Days.

The annual events will run Thursday, April 26 and Friday, April 27. The deadline to submit abstracts for inclusion in the PSD Research Symposium is Friday, Jan. 26.

The two-day event includes a lecture by visiting professor, D. Wade Clapp, M.D., the Richard L. Schreiner Professor and Chairman in the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University. Clapp is also physician-in-chief for Riley Hospital for Children as well as professor of microbiology and immunology, biochemistry and molecular biology. He is a neonatologist and a physician/scientist with an active lab and National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant support focusing on translational research. His research has been internationally acclaimed and has resulted in several clinical trials. He is also past director of the M.D. /Ph.D. program at Indiana University, which is now an NIH-designated Medical Scientist Training Program.

Abstract Submission

The department strongly encourages faculty and trainees at any school, department or center at Saint Louis University whose work addresses any aspect of child health and well-being to submit their work for presentation at the PSD Research Symposium on Thursday, April 26.

Acceptable content includes any type of research (basic science, translational, clinical, epidemiology/outcomes, etc.), health-related ethical/legal issues, or it may describe a new or ongoing program that addresses health issues in children.

All submitted abstracts will be considered for presentation. However, due to the increasing popularity of this symposium, presentation cannot be guaranteed.

No more than two abstracts should be submitted by any one mentor/laboratory. Any abstract that has been recently presented or will be presented at a national or regional meeting is appropriate. However, work should not have been presented at a previous PSD Symposium.

This year, authors can choose whether they wish to present in poster format only; however, authors may not choose a platform-only presentation.

Abstract submission forms may be obtained on the PSD Web page.

Abstracts should be submitted by email.
