SLU Student Outbreak Response Team Hosting Scavenger Hunt

03/20/2018

The Saint Louis University Student Outbreak Response Team will be hosting a scavenger hunt during Public Health Week, which runs from Monday April 2, through Friday April 6.

The hunt will feature an outbreak investigation game/scenario combined with a campus-wide scavenger hunt. This event is sponsored by the Student Outbreak Response Team (SORT), a student organization in the College for Public Health and Social Justice.

The scavenger hunt will involve activities that can be completed at any point during the week as well as a mock outbreak investigation that will require participants to collect clues and trace the outbreak to its fake source. Details, clues and rules for the game will be sent by email to those who signed up on the morning of Monday, April 2. The event is free to join and prizes will be awarded to the team or individual who completes the most activities and earns the most points.

The scavenger hunt and outbreak investigation game are open to all students. Participants may play as individuals or as part of a two-person team. Clues will be hidden on both main campus and the medical campus.

The activities take place at noon during Public Health Week. Activities can be completed at any time during the week, but all activities must be completed by Friday, April 6, at noon. After the Scavenger Hunt, SORT will host a free awards ceremony and screening of the movie Contagion in SALUS auditorium at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 6.

Snacks will be provided.

To join, send a short email to sort@slu.edu by Monday, April 2. Include in the email your name and team partner. Teams may not exceed two people.
