Students Seek Stories for 'Tales of St. Louis'

11/16/2018

The students of 3200 Diversity and Anti-Oppression are seeking stories about confronting or triumphing over adversity for their “Tales of St. Louis” event on Tuesday, Nov. 27.

The event will allow anonymous story submissions from the Saint Louis University and city community members detailing adversities or triumphs faced regarding any identifiers or backgrounds including race, ability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, mental health and immigration.

The stories will be read by anonymous volunteers to preclude attendees from making judgments based on a reader’s physical appearance. Immediately following the readings, attendees will attend breakout sessions where discussions will follow about topics related to privilege, the individual role, and parallels between personal experiences and those the day’s participants heard.

Tales of St. Louis runs from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Kelly Auditorium Lecture Hall,
