SLU Holds Online Surplus Property Auction

Saint Louis University’s Division of Student Development will host an online auction beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12.

Everything from kitchen and restaurant equipment to furniture and other smallwares such as pots, pans, cups and saucers are available in the fourth online auction of Saint Louis University surplus property.

The online auction ends at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30. Businesses, individuals, students, staff, faculty, alumni, other University organizations and the general public can register and bid for the items online. A complete listing of all surplus items can be viewed on the Auctioneering Company’s web site.

To bid, registration is required on TopShopAuctions. Registration is free and open to the public.

“This is Saint Louis University’s fourth online auction,” said Kent Porterfield, Vice President of Student Development. “We are excited about making the University’s surplus property available online. We are hoping for good participation from the public and the SLU community. Funds generated by the sale will be used to replenish any needed kitchen equipment or furnishings.”

Anyone interested in seeing the equipment can do so between 1-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, by making an appointment at 314-977-9525.

“Sales of surplus property generate revenues for the University from items that are no longer in use or are no longer required for operations,” Porterfield said. “Disposal of these items allows the University to return the funds to our dining program and helps keep tuition increases for room and board to a minimum.”

All items are sold “as-is, where is and without warranty.”

Winning bidders must collect the asset by Nov. 1.
