Interprofessional Geriatric Case Competition

The Fall 2018 Interprofessional Geriatric Case Competition is now accepting registrations from students from all health-related programs.

Each participant will collaborate on a team with other health profession students to create a plan of care for a complex older patient with multiple, chronic health challenges. The team will then create an innovative 20-minute case presentation and compete against other teams.

To register send an email with your name, discipline/program and year to aging@slu.edu by Sept. 21.

Orientation will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in Rooms 112-113 of the Learning Resources Center, 3545 Vista Avenue. Students will be randomly assigned to an interprofessional team and will meet as often as they deem necessary to create a care plan and presentation.

Each team will present their care plan on Monday, Oct. 29, at the Learning Resources Center, with each team allotted a 30-minute time slot. An interdisciplinary panel of faculty will review and judge each presentation.

There will be an awards ceremony at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in the Multipurpose Room on the third floor of the Allied Health Building, 3437 Caroline St.
