University Seeking Proposals to Develop Northwest Corner of Grand and Chouteau

Saint Louis University is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for development of a 13.9-acre property located at the northwest corner of Grand and Chouteau boulevards, across from SLU’s Doisy Research Center. The property has been vacant for a number of years.

The University will seek creative proposals from private developers for projects that would benefit students, patients and other members of the SLU community, as well as neighboring residents who live in the area.

Strengthening the connection between SLU’s north and south campuses was identified as a priority during the University’s campus master planning process, and the corner is one of the most prominent intersections joining the two.

In the future, the property will offer direct access to the planned Great Rivers Greenway walking and bicycle trail connecting the Gateway Arch to Forest Park.

In the city’s central corridor, there are more than $5 billion in residential, corporate, institutional, recreational and transportation projects in the works, including the new $550 million SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital under construction just south of the property.
