Atlas Week included opportunities for students, faculty and staff members to connect
across languages, over delicacies from a host of countries and by bearing the flags
of nations near and dear to their hearts in a cavalcade that encircled SLU’s Lipic
Clock Tower.
The week, a 19-year-long tradition on SLU’s campus, examined migration and finding
a place to call home.
Kicking off with a keynote speech by noted journalist John Quinones, the week’s highlights
included the Eine Korean Cultural Performance, which blended the peninsula’s traditional
music with Western instruments at St. Francis Xavier College Church, the traditional
Parade of Nations and Billiken World Festival, among the 85 events included in this
week’s offerings.
