School for Professional Studies Hosting 'Billiken Bash'

04/04/2019

The School for Professional Studies (SPS) will host its annual “Billiken Bash,” a week-long event aimed at encouraging students to plan and register for classes beginning on Monday, April 8.

Once a year, academic coaches at the school announce next year’s course schedule and encourage students to plan and register for classes. This year, students can plan an entire year’s course schedule.

Billiken Bash runs through Friday, April 12. Students are encouraged to meet with their academic coaches in-person, on the phone or via email to set up a course schedule that would map out the classes they will take for the following year.

“Planning an entire year’s schedule of classes is great because you don’t end up on a waitlist for a class,” Andrea Kolisch, academic coach, said. “You also know exactly what to expect in that coming year and therefore can plan your life around it.”

Those who take advantage of this opportunity to get ahead of the game in planning class schedules will be entered to win SLU swag. Winners will be announced on social media through Facebook and Twitter.

Academic coaches at SPS will have office hours at Brouster Hall from Monday, April 8, through Friday, April 12, to help students set up an academic plan for the 2019-2020 academic year.

For questions or more information, contact Debra Blanquart, senior academic coach, or call 314-977-3347.
