Staff, Faculty Raise Millions for 'Accelerating Excellence'

04/02/2019

Saint Louis University’s faculty and staff have donated more than $12 million during The Faculty and Staff Drive for Accelerating Excellence, according the University’s Division of Development. Donations to the focused fundraising effort exceeded the goal of raising $10.5 million for SLU from its internal community.

The drive, which took place this fall, supported Accelerating Excellence: The Campaign for Saint Louis University, a $500 million effort designed to propel SLU to national prominence by enhancing its position as a world-class research university.

“We are grateful for this generous support from the people who know SLU best,” said Sheila Manion, vice president of development. “Our faculty and staff are sending a message to the greater community that SLU is ready to lead the way in creating a remarkable future and that this is an exciting time to be part of what SLU is doing.”

The donations of all sizes from more than 2,300 faculty and staff will impact SLU for decades to come. Faculty and staff contributed to programs across campus, including the Helping Our Own fund, an emergency support fund for faculty and staff that received more than $100,000 during the drive.
